I am happy to have been able to participate. This day has further helped me to see and understand some of the difficulties that my students must endure daily. I take with me that there is definitely a reason that I am at this school. The curriculum is SECONDARY. The relationships and helping provide a safe and meaningful experience for these kids is priority. During the cross the line exercise, I actually felt guilty for having grown up in a caring, loving family with 2 parents that provided a fairly sheltered environment for us. I'm proud that I have been able to do the same for my kids and I'm very lucky (25 years of happy marriage). I've endured my share of bumps along the way, but am stronger for it. My promise is to give what I can to make life better for these kids. (original message)
